Do you calculate position-level performance?

Yes. CircleBlack offers performance calculations by household, account, position, and asset class.

What kind of performance benchmarks can you create?

There are several benchmark options and blended benchmarks available.

How does CircleBlack calculate performance?

CircleBlack uses the “dollar-weighted return” or (money-weighted return) methodology to reflect the actual gains or losses from your investments (instead of using a “time-weighted return” methodology to weigh each period equally.)

Firms and advisors can change the calculation methodology to “Time Weighted” in Advisor Preferences and Household Preferences. You can calculate performance by gross or net of advisory fees.

How complex is CircleBlack to use?

CircleBlack is intuitive to navigate and easy to use. And if you ever feel stuck, you can contact your dedicated Customer Success rep for additional support.

How quickly can I get started with CircleBlack?

We’ll schedule your first onboarding call a few days after you sign the agreement. After, system access varies by custodian but typically takes a few weeks. However, we can add ‘dummy data’ into the platform to get you started faster.
